After dinner, I sometimes enjoy an evening walk with my family./夕食後、時々家族で夜の散歩を楽しんでいます。
People say that Japan is a safe country, but I still worry about women walking outside alone late at night.
My house is about 4 minutes by bicycle from the nearest train station, but when I get home late, I ride my bicycle at full speed while being vigilant about my surroundings. (I have almost never been in danger, but it is possible that I may encounter a criminal by chance…) In addition, I often see police patrol vehicles, so I think the police are doing their best to maintain public safety./日本の治安は良いと言われますが、それでも女性が夜遅くに1人で外を歩くのは心配です。自宅は電車の最寄り駅から自転車で4分位ですが、帰宅が遅くなる時は周囲を警戒しながら自転車を疾走させます。（私は実際に危ない目に合ったことはほぼありませんが、偶然犯罪者に遭遇する可能性もあると思いますので・・）なお、警察のパトロール車両も良く見かけるので、警察も治安の維持のために頑張ってくれているものと思います。
Still, it is safe to go out with more than one person. Sometimes I enjoy an evening walk with my husband and children after dinner. In particular, my oldest son loves stag beetles, so we walk around the neighborhood looking for stag beetles in the trees in the park.Sometimes we walk along the path to my oldest son’s elementary school (about a 10-minute walk from my house), and sometimes we walk along the path to my youngest son’s preschool (about a 15-minute walk from my house)/それでも、複数人で出かけるのであれば安心です。時々、夕食後に夫や子供と夜の散歩を楽しんでいます。特に、長男がクワガタ虫が好きなので、近所を散歩しながら公園の木にクワガタがいないか探しています。長男の小学校（自宅から徒歩10分位）までの道を散歩することもあれば、次男の保育園（自宅から徒歩15分位）までの道を散歩することもあります。
Yesterday, we took another one-hour walk from about 8:00-9:00 pm. The picture (which didn’t come out well at all) is of a newt my son found. We also found two stag beetles in the park.
昨日も、夜8時～9時頃までの1時間散歩しました。写真は（全く上手に写せませんでしたが）息子が見つけたイモリです。コクワガタも公園で2匹見つけました。
Speaking of public safety, elementary school students walk to and from school alone with their children, as is often surprised by people from abroad. In the neighborhood, children go to the park alone to play, so it may be safe to say that they are safe./治安といえば、海外の方は驚かれますが、小学生は子供だけで登下校します。近所であれば子供だけで公園に遊びに行くので、安全といえば安全なのかもしれません。
